Valves for the chemical and pharmaceutical industry are fluid-control components designed to handle aggressive, corrosive, hazardous or flammable media in severe conditions, where sealing and reliability leave no room for error. In these plants, the valve and the actuator have a direct impact on safety, operational continuity and environmental protection.
At OMAL we design both in-house and supply them as valve-actuator packages that are already matched and ready to use, so that valve and actuator work together consistently from the very first cycle.
Our chemical and pharmaceutical range brings together ball valves of different types: split body with the PROCHEMIE 60 and THOR, wafer with the MAGNUM, trunnion ball valves with the SUPREME, and 3-piece ball valves with the 424, in stainless steel or carbon steel depending on the execution. The ARES angle seat valves and the AGO, RACKON and Heavy Duty pneumatic actuators complete the series.
Why choose OMAL actuators and valves for the chemical industry?
Specialists since 1981, at OMAL we bring over 45 years of experience to every supply of actuators and valves for the chemical industry. Our highly automated in-house production keeps every stage under our control and ensures consistent quality and fast lead times. The advantages below build on this industrial strength.
Valve-actuator package engineered in-house
Because the valve and actuator come from the same facility, we supply a ball valve with a pneumatic actuator already sized, assembled and tested. We verify the correct matching of valves and actuators, offering decisive integration in chemical applications and a single technical contact for the entire package.
Special executions and custom solutions
We develop special executions and custom and tailor-made solutions for the most demanding applications: inclined-stem tank-bottom ball valves, 3-way trunnion ball valves, revolving-flange and one-piece body ball valves, plus high-alloy executions according to the compatibility with the process fluid.
Applications in the chemical, petrochemical and process industry
The applications of our chemical industry valves and actuators span several sectors, from paint & coatings to petrochemical, from pharmaceutical to the wider process industry. Representative use cases include:
-

Our range of valves and actuators for the chemical and pharmaceutical industry
Our range of chemical industry valves comprises several industrial ball valves and the ARES angle seat valves, all of which can be automated with our pneumatic actuators.
Most of them are flanged ball valves (RF connections) that work as a shut-off ball valve for safe fluid isolation, while the 3-way executions divert the flow.

PROCHEMIE 60, the split body ball valve for chemicals
The PROCHEMIE 60 is our flagship product for the sector: a stainless steel split body ball valve, engineered specifically as a valve for the chemical industry. It is built for high stem tightness and for safety in high-cycle operation, where leakage can create risks for people and the environment.
It covers DN 15 to DN 150 (1/2" - 6"), with a 1.4408 stainless steel body, seats in modified, glass- or carbon-filled PTFE, Devlon or PEEK, RF flanged connections and PN 16-40. It is TA-Luft certified for 60,000 cycles and fugitive emission certified according to ISO 15848-1, together with ATEX, SIL up to SIL3, Fire Safe, PED and AD2000 HP0/A4.
THOR, our flanged ball valves
The THOR is our split body flanged ball valve in cast stainless steel (CF8M) and forged (F316), for demanding industrial applications.
It ranges from DN 15 to DN 200 (1/2" - 8") and is available in full bore, reduced bore and as a 3-way ball valve. In the 3-way execution it also works as a diverter valve.
Pressures range from PN 16-100 and from ANSI 150 up to ANSI 1500 depending on the execution. It carries Ex CE-UKCA, PED, SIL up to SIL3, fugitive emission and Fire Safe certifications.
MAGNUM, the wafer and split-wafer ball valve
The MAGNUM is a compact ball valve in wafer and split-wafer versions, in A105 carbon steel or 316 stainless steel, also in cast CF8M. It covers DN 15 to DN 200 depending on the execution, with pressures from PN 16-100 and ANSI 150-600, seats in modified, glass- or carbon-filled PTFE or in PEEK, and RF flanged connections.
It suits industrial and process plants.
SUPREME, the trunnion ball valve for high pressure
The SUPREME is our trunnion ball valve for heavy-duty applications.
It ranges from DN 50 to DN 600 (2" - 24"), up to ANSI 2500 depending on size, with seats in RPTFE, Devlon or PEEK and RF or RTJ flanged connections. It is the high-pressure ball valve for the most severe processes, with Ex CE-UKCA, PED, Fire Safe, SIL up to SIL3 and fugitive emission certifications.
424, the 3-piece stainless steel ball valve
The 424 is a full-bore 3-piece stainless steel ball valve, from DN 8 to DN 100 (1/4" - 4"), in CF8M/1.4408 stainless steel, with threaded or weld ends (socket or butt weld) and pressure up to PN 63.
ARES, the pneumatic angle seat valve
The ARES is a pneumatic angle seat valve, for reliable and fast on/off control on utilities and process lines. It ranges from DN 15 to DN 50 (3/8" - 2"), with a stainless steel body, in double-acting, spring-return (NC/NO) or manually operated versions, up to PN 25.
AGO, RACKON and Heavy Duty: the pneumatic valve actuators
Our valves can be supplied as a pneumatic actuated ball valve, with actuators designed for high-cycle operation.
The AGO is a rotary pneumatic actuator of the scotch yoke type, available as a double-acting pneumatic actuator (DA, from 8 to 8000 Nm) or spring-return (SR, from 15 to 4000 Nm), with a compact design, reduced weight and low air consumption.
The RACKON is the rack-and-pinion pneumatic actuator (DA from 10 to 474 Nm, SR from 15 to 347 Nm), while the Heavy Duty scotch yoke actuators reach up to 32,000 Nm.
These are pneumatic valve actuators for quarter-turn valves, certified Ex CE-UKCA and SIL up to SIL3.
Certifications for the chemical industry: TA-Luft, fugitive emission, SIL, Fire Safe, ATEX and PED
In the chemical sector, certifications are a guarantee of safety, environmental protection and long-term reliability. Given the risks tied to hazardous media, fugitive emissions, fire scenarios and explosive atmospheres, OMAL places great value on certified performance.
Our ball valve range holds key certifications: TA-Luft and fugitive emission (with the PROCHEMIE 60 TA-Luft certified for 60,000 cycles and fugitive emission certified according to ISO 15848-1), SIL up to SIL3, Fire Safe, ATEX / Ex CE-UKCA and PED.
The AD2000 HP0/A4 is also available on the PROCHEMIE 60.
The AGO scotch yoke pneumatic actuators are in turn certified Ex CE-UKCA and SIL up to SIL3, so that the complete actuated valve meets the highest requirements. For areas with potentially explosive atmospheres, ATEX ball valves and ATEX pneumatic actuators are available.
